I grew up in Ocean Beach, a small community in San Diego, California. By day I work as a Special Ed Instructional Assistant with high school students. By night, and any other leftover time, I write children’s stories and poetry. My first children’s picture book An Aarmory of Aardvarks, A Zeal of Zebras, is coming out soon by WindstormCreative. My poetry has been published in SageWoman magazine and League of Laboring Poets.

I studied art, textiles, and costume design at San Diego State University. I am a member of the San Diego Watercolor Society and exhibit my work in local galleries. I express myself through passionate swirls of acrylics, gouache, caran d’ ache, handcast paper and shedded snakeskin.

And when I’m not teaching or expressing myself, I am a mother, a grandmother, sister, friend, lover, and tree-hugger.
